We are down at M1 again today to check out the latest arrival at the data centre. Our Argonite fire suppression gas cylinders have arrived and are being installed. We will have more news on these when we fit the pipes in the coming weeks but we thought this was a great opportunity to show them off!

As you can see from these photos there will be plenty of cylinders spread around the data centre as part of our inert gas fire suppression system we are installing. This is an advanced system with zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) and zero Global Warming Potential (GWP). This means that not only is it the most effective way of quickly putting out any fires, it also has minimal environmental impact. This is because gas is a mixture of argon and nitrogen that suppresses fire by depleting oxygen in the the data hall.
