Bevan Slattery Takes Reigns as CEO of NEXTDC |

The Board of data centre provider NEXTDC Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Bevan Slattery as its Chief Executive Officer, effective 18 October 2010.
Established in May this year, NEXTDC is building and will operate a network of neutral enterprise class data centres in key capital cities.
“With the completion of the PIPE Networks takeover in March and having overseen and completed the successful migration program to TPG Telecom Limited as new owner, I am really excited to be able to commit 100% of my attention on NEXTDC,” Mr Slattery said.
“We are going to bring to the Australian data center market something that it has not had before. That is a national, well-funded, well credentialed, neutral data center provider – and we are going to do it in a record time.
“NEXTDC will do to the data center space what PIPE did to the telecommunications landscape – only we are planning to do it faster and bigger,” he said.
NEXTDC was founded earlier this year with a $20M equity injection by Mr Slattery to build and operate carrier and systems integrator neutral data centres in Australia and New Zealand.
Mr Slattery said the company had already secured strategic footholds in both Melbourne and Brisbane following successful due diligence.
He said it had also already commenced the re-fit of its Brisbane facility and the initial phase was expected to be operational by Christmas 2010.
“NEXTDC has also finalised the preliminary technical specification and design of our Melbourne facility, with a construction contract to be awarded in the coming weeks,” he said.
“Our Melbourne purpose-built “green” data centre facility is also on track to be operational in second half 2011.”
NEXTDC Chairman Roger Clarke said the company’s Directors are pleased to secure Mr Slattery’s full time commitment.
