NEXTDC Limited is pleased to announce that it has executed a heads of terms with Harbour MSP as its first and anchor customer at its state-of-the-art Melbourne data centre facility.

Mr Bevan Slattery, CEO of NEXTDC said, “we are delighted to sign an agreement with Harbour MSP for 1,000m² data centre space at our purpose-built Melbourne facility. Harbour MSP is well known for their outstanding IT services and hosting capability in the Australian marketplace and their selection of NEXTDC’s upcoming Melbourne facility provides them access to what we believe will become Melbourne’s premier data center facility.”

“Harbour MSP is committed to delivering the best hosting solution to our clients and our selection of NEXTDC’s purpose-built facility in Melbourne will allow us to deliver just that. We have been able to secure our dedicated 1,000m2 data hall built to Tier 3 standards along with ancillary operational and office space within the NEXTDC facility providing an ideal environment to service our Victorian clients,” said Andrew Hardy, Commercial Director at Harbour MSP.

“NEXTDC has the team with the track record of delivering large-scale data centre projects within tight timeframes, has the financial capability and importantly NEXTDC is a neutral provider. For Harbour MSP that combination was simply compelling in selecting NEXTDC as our facility provider in Melbourne. I am confident that this is the beginning of what will be a long-term relationship between Harbour MSP and NEXTDC,” added Mr Hardy.

From its dedicated data hall within the NEXTDC facility, Harbour MSP intends to offer a full suite of services including co-location, 24/7 infrastructure monitoring, management, security, networking, private cloud deployment and disaster recovery to its customers base in Victoria.

Under the terms of this agreement, Harbour MSP will initially take 600m2 of technical space expanding to 1,000m2 within two years. Both companies expect to execute a binding and definitive agreement in the next sixty days.

NEXTDC is on track to complete its capital raising and list on ASX around 13 December 2010 under the ticker “NXT”. Upon listing on the ASX, NEXTDC will be the only ASX-listed large scale neutral data centre operator in Australia.
