Manage Protect, cloud-based security and mobility services provider, has employed award-winning IT infrastructure provider Zettagrid to host the local deployment of the Silicon Valley-based file sharing and collaboration platform Soonr in data centres including NEXTDC’s M1 Melbourne facility.

Soonr recently appointed Manage Protect as its strategic distributor in Australia and New Zealand – a deal which illustrates the ability of colocation facilities like NEXTDC’s M1 to support the rapid deployment of new cloud-based services.

"I started using Soonr Workplace some eight months ago for Manage Protect's own business needs," said Andrew Johnson, Manage Protect's Director. “Soonr allows me to centrally manage all of my organisation's files, anywhere, anytime using an iPad, phone or any device with a browser, securely and easily.

“Manage Protect’s business is all about providing secure best-of-breed technology and services through our 450 channel partners, who contribute 100% of our sales. We wanted to select a data centre that would reflect our brand. We were actually waiting for the M1 Melbourne data centre to open because NEXTDC has quickly become the data centre of choice within our reseller community. The commitment to quality and best-of-breed technology resonates with our business-grade culture.

“We’ve been with Zettagrid for two years. We chose them because they were both clearly a market leader, like NEXTDC, who could scale with us and were willing to take the time to understand our needs. They offer business-grade services and have not only shown the professionalism and maturity in their business process, but also the willingness to go ‘above and beyond’ to ensure our Infrastructure-as-a-Service delivers on our rapid growth and flexibility needs. NEXTDC and Zettagrid give us the confidence we can scale up our services right away, and this is a huge benefit.”

According to Manage Protect, unlike Dropbox and Box.com, with Soonr all customer data is exclusively stored in geo-redundant data centres in Australia, providing low latency for faster service delivery, as well as compliance with local privacy regulations and data sovereignty requirements.

“Manage Protect’s end customers tend to be small-to-medium sized businesses,” continued Andrew, “and they want to work with people they trust, and see their data kept within easy reach. Even when utilising a global technology platform like Soonr, our customers sign their agreements with their IT providers and us, as we are delivering the service on our infrastructure, which is powered by best-of-breed third parties like NEXTDC. So everything about our services stays onshore.”
