NEXTDC aims to be a the leader in everything we choose to do. With our corporate philanthropy project, we launched initiatives to improve the communities in which we live and work, through the introduction of four core charities and giving programs.
Our corporate social responsibility program 'Live to Give' allows our team and the company to be able to support local communities. Companies can do more than just make money, they can give back to the community and use their success to improve society.
The Smith Family is a national, independent children's charity helping disadvantaged Australian's to get the most out of their education, so they can create better futures for themselves.
By giving disadvantaged children and young people the support and resources they need to achieve their full potential, our impact will have a lasting effect on those we help today, and for generations to come.
We have partnered with The Smith Family to embrace the power of education and invest in the digital futures of disadvantaged young people.
Through this partnership, we are sponsoring The Smith Family's Learning for Life scholarship program, which provides early intervention and balanced, long-term support to over 38,000 students across Australia.
To ensure that "giving back" is baked into our DNA, we have joined the Pledge 1% global movement. This is a corporate philanthropy movement dedicated to making the community a key stakeholder in every business.
By taking the 1% Time Pledge, we have publicly committed to enabling and empowering our employees to be able to devote 1% of time (2.4 days per year) to give back to our community.
The pledge is part of our employees work day, it's not about trying to squeeze the 1% of time in at night or weekends, it's about taking advantage of all the community engagement opportunities available to our employees through the 'Live to Give' program.
