Datcom, one of Sydney’s leading managed IT services provider – specialising in ICT procurement, solutions architecture, IT support and cloud computing – is establishing racks in NEXTDC’s S1 data centre to house infrastructure for a major customer, and eventually extend Datcom’s own cloud hosting capabilities.

“At Datcom our business is to secure the best product or service for our customers and tailor it specifically to their needs, as if we work directly for them,” said Datcom Managing Director Jay Sayed. “Its advanced technology coupled with old-fashioned customer service.”

“Our client wanted to consolidate their three data centre locations into one core location. They had requirements like their own suite, easy access for their staff and proximity to their offices, and because they’re a Telstra and Optus wholesale partner they needed a facility where those telcos had a presence – and S1 ticked all the boxes.

“The S1 tour we went on was great, it was non-sales orientated and focussed on the technical aspects of the data centre, which is built with the latest technology, and we received excellent feedback from our client. They loved the remote rack unlocking and on demand monitoring through the ONEDC® mobile app.

“The management of the relationship by NEXTDC’s personnel was excellent, and quickly built trust between us. The flexibility of their colocation services is one of the core things that appeal to us about the company, and we’re very comfortable with their straight-forward channel model."

“Datcom is just the kind of quality-focussed MSP that can take best advantage of all the services and established business connections available at S1,” said NEXTDC’s Executive General Manager – Sales and Marketing, Adam Scully, who worked closely with Datcom on the new deal. “We’re really excited to be working with a business of Datcom’s calibre and support their future operations.”
