NEXTDC has received formal planning consent to proceed with the M3 Melbourne, NEXTDC's hyperscale technology campus, located in West Footscray.
The full M3 site spans a 100,000sqm and will be developed into a 150MW technology campus. West Footscray is approximately 10km west of Melbourne’s CBD, with the M3 site prominently located close to a major electricity substation as well as telecommunications, utilities, and public infrastructure.
M3 will play a critically important role in enabling enterprise and government customers to scale their critical infrastructure platforms, forming a new Availability Zone within the Melbourne market. This highly interconnected technology hub forms the gateway for enterprise and government organisations to directly connect and integrate their corporate IT with the aaS providers and public and private cloud platforms that underpin their digital strategy.
Directly interconnecting to M1 and M2, our Melbourne metropolitan campuses enable organisations to leverage the full advantage of direct, low latency access to network and cloud-dense digital services ecosystem.
Additionally, M3 will form a critical operations hub for customers, enabling them to house their mission-critical operation centres, administrative offices and collaboration spaces within the hyperscale hub.
M3 will be a completely fault-tolerant facility, built and certified to NEXTDC’s premium Uptime Tier IV resilience standards and will champion the energy efficiency and sustainability best practices NEXTDC is known for.
Practical completion planned for 1HFY23.
