NEXTDC commits to gender balance in senior leadership

BRISBANE, Australia – 25 August 2021. NEXTDC Limited (ASX: NXT), Australia's leading provider of digital infrastructure solutions, has announced that the Company will increase the proportion of women in senior leadership positions to at least 40% by 2030. 40:40 Vision, established by industry super fund HESTA was created to increase awareness and action in growing the proportion of women in leadership across Australia’s largest listed companies to at least 40% by 2030.

NEXTDC CEO, Craig Scroggie said, “NEXTDC is an inclusive workplace and we recognise the business and social importance of achieving gender diversity. Our participation in the 40:40 Vision reflects NEXTDC’s commitment to developing and sustaining a diverse and inclusive culture.”

According to Chief Executive Women’s latest census on ASX200 senior executives, the number of women in leadership has flatlined. In 2020, just 30 ASX 200 companies had at least 40% women in executive leadership positions.

Becoming a signatory for 40:40 Vision involves NEXTDC pledging an ongoing commitment to gender diversity as the Company continues to embrace and encourage people focussed transformation across the organisation. This includes:

  • Pledging to achieve gender balance in senior leadership positions (40:40:20) by 2030
  • Declaring public gender composition targets for 2023 and 2027
  • Making the Company’s plans public to employees, shareholders and the wider business community
  • Reporting annually on how we are tracking against designated targets.
